What
is digital printing?
It is
a revolutionary method of printing from direct from disk
(mac or PC) or hard copy, direct to paper without the need
for conventional films or plates. At speeds of up to 125
ppm black or 45 ppm of full colour, digital printing is
ideal for short run, variable text documents such as mail
shots, price lists, manuals, handbooks, posters, catalogues,
directories, leaflets etc. Laser sharp images for the price
of a photocopy
Digital
technology has introduced a new meaning to the phrase "print-on-demand".
It refers to the method of electronic printing whereby the
printed page is produced as it is commanded from a computer
system, without the need for films or plates. By this method
quantities are as required, not as dictated, and can contain
infinite personalisation within the run. We are committed
to advancing the use of this exciting new form of printing.

When should it be used?

Normally digital printing should be considered for short
run colour or black and white printing, where conventional
litho printing would not be cost effective.
Digital printing also allows for variable data to be applied
to a project, so that any document can be personalised for
each recipient. This is ideal for direct mail, conference
material, training guides, certificates and posters.
However,
we will always evaluate the project before we quote you
to decide the optimum method of printing, litho or digital.
